Step up to the Streets: A Sequel to Step Up

The movie Step up to the Streets is a sequel to the original movie “Step Up”. Critics have pointed out that it was not as great a movie as its prequel “Step up”, but still has an entertaining story line and has a well-choreographed dance number. The lead actors are Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan.

In this movie, there is a pair of characters hailing from different cultural backgrounds and they are fully allowed to find their own similarities and romance with each other along with loads of dancing and music. The lead actors look great with their dance moves and good looks and they keep the movie interesting and entertaining instead of its lack of originality. Andie played by Briana Evigan is a young girl troubled. She is very interested in dancing with her crew from the streets. She is sent to live with her aunt in Texas but the Tyler gets her a golden chance to attend the Maryland School of Arts. Andie is like a fish out of the Water in the Art School, as everyone at the school is a classically trained dancer. However, she is just a mere street dancer, but then subsequently she finds people like her, who are also street dancers at the school. She befriends Chase Collins (Robert Hoffman), who is also very interested in Andie’s style of dancing. The story line of this movie is completely different movie from Step Up.

The movie Step Up to the Streets although has less originality, but has a lot of charm and style though little element of substance. It is a movie that focuses on not the classic, but the contemporary and free style of dancing.

Step up to the Streets is worth a watch, as the story is different from its prequel. Again, it is entertaining and going to make you dance till its over.
