With the help of Sendak, her best friend Romy and boyfriend Mark, Casey uncovers the source of a family curse dating back to Nazi Germany--a creature with the ability to inhabit anyone or anything that is getting stronger with each possession. Unborn: Sequel to Clover Field
The writer and director of The Unborn is David Goyer. This movie is talked as possibly a sequel to the movie called Clover field. Unborn goes deeper into the mystery of original spirits haunting the lead actor of the movie Odette Yustman. Again, the veteran actor in this movie is Jane Alexander.
Casey Beldon (Yustman) is a college student, who suddenly starts seeing all kinds of crazy things like scorpions in the eggs that she is eating and dogs are wearing unusual masks. Her doctor tells her that she suffers from genetic mosaicism, which is an irregularity of the retina that is often seen in twins. Casey’s holocaust survivor grandmother (Jane Alexander) actually finds out that the real evil reason behind her problem and the Nazis are responsible as usual for this problem with her. In the movie, a scary blue-eyed zombie child keeps following Casey wherever she goes and this has its links with the experiments that were done on Casey’s uncle when he was in Auschwitz. This is what resulted in turning him into a mythological monster named Dybbuk and Gary Oldman comes into the picture as an exorcist to exorcize this malicious demon and to cure Casey of her problem.
Goyer uses the technique of taking the less-is-more approach in order to scare and spook the audience. The editing and visual tracks used in The Unborn are good and Goyer succeeds in creating a frightening environment for the viewers and making them uncomfortable in their seats.
Critics have said it that “Unborn” is not as great a movie as the “The Exorcist” and “Rosemary’s Baby” and seems just like any generic common horror movie. However, it is expected to be a hit at the box office.
