The Karate Kid is an upcoming film, based on martial arts. It is a remake of the Karate Kid Series (1984). The Director of this upcoming movie is Harald Zwart. The Karate Kid (2010) has an attractive cast. It stars Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith, the star kid from In pursuit of Happiness, as the karate kid. The movie will be released in the United States in the mid of June 2010. Unlike the film of 1984, this new film is set in Beijing, China. It has borrowed from the original plot, where a bullied teenager learns to stand up and fight for himself with the help of a whimsical mentor.
The plot of the movie is as follows. The 12-year-old kid, Dre Parker, could have had a very good life in the city of Detroit, but has to relocate to China due to his mothers latest career. Dre has not spent much of time on the Chinese school, but he has already fallen for one of his classmates, mei-Ying, and also made an enemy of the class bully. In the nation where Kung-fu is the lingua franca, Dre is equipped with just a few moves of Karate, and
his enemy can easily take down, Karate Kid Dre to the floor. Luckily for him, Dre meets Mr. Han, who teaches him that martial arts is not about, kicks and punches, but about maturity, boldness and calm.
Under the guidance of Dre soon realizes that fighting bullies will be the task of his lifetime. The movie is a perfect mix of some Hilarious moments and also some great philosophical advices. The movie promises a great watch. With the glitzy star cast, and excellent plot, this movie is one to look out after.
