Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel - A Sequel to Alvin and the Chipmunks
The Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel is a sequence to the Alvin and the Chipmunks and is directed by Betty Thomas. This animated romantic comedy/drama flick is more like a sequel to the Alvin and the Chipmunk version of the 2007 flick. The film released on December 23, 2009 in US and across the globe. Jonathan Aibel and Jon Vitti have been the storywriters for this film and Bagdasarian Productions is the production company behind this film.
The Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel has Justin Long lending his voice for Alvin and has a lot many interesting Hollywood actors lending their voice for the various characters in this film. The storyline revolves around the three teenage pop sensations, Theodre, Alvin and Simon getting under the care of Dave Seville's nephew named Toby. The young musical band group returns to school and have their task cut out where they require winning their music program of USD 25,000 at school among other group of bands but eventually they find the matches of their lives in another teenage musical band known as the Chipettes featuring Brittany, Jeanette and Eleanor.
The lead cast in the Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel includes Zachari Levi, David Cross, Jason Lee, Matthew Gray Gubler, Justin Long, Jesse McCartney, Anna Faris, Amy Poehler, Christina Applegate and others.
The Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel has not had a global or a major box office success as most of the viewers have felt that there should not have been a sequel. The storyline seems to be the main weak link with one group of chipmunks finding another group of chipmunks and then eventually becoming matches. However, this film would be real fun for the first timers who have not actually seen the previous 2007 version if not that exciting.
