I Sell the Dead â A Work of Art
The brainchild of first time writer/director Glenn McQuaid, I Sell the Dead is a movie that boasts of an incredible script and absolutely flawless direction. Released on the May 21, name of the movie sounds scary, but there is a humor thrown in to make the movie an out and out entertainer. The director has most certainly managed to bring out the best that moviegoers have seen in a long time in spite of the drawstring budget of the movie. The cast of the movie comprises of Dominic Monaghan, Angus Scrimm, Ron Perlman and Larry Fessenden. The production design of the flick is also commendable.
I Sell the Dead is a story about Arthur & Willie played by Dominic and Larry, who are a professional team that robs graves for a living in the 18th Century Ireland. It is only when they decide stop working for Angus Scrimm, which they begin to take notice of other moneymaking opportunities. The real drama unfolds when this duo is left to deal with rival grave robbers, vampires and zombies.
The cast of âI Sell the Deadâ has put in oodles of hard work, which reflects in the costumes, set dressing, make-up FX, music and cinematography. The New York-lensed production of I Sell the Dead makes it very easy to believe that the film has been shot on the sets of an old Jean Rollins movie. Overall, the movie looks like a multi-million dollar project.
The movie managed to make $3,529 (USA) on the August 9, 2009 and the gross sales were $7,066 (USA) on 16th of August 2009. Both the critic and box office reviews of I Sell the Dead have been extremely impressive and the movie has certainly managed to make a mark for itself. To sum it all up, this movie promises the viewers 85 min of non-stop comedy and horror. Definitely not the kinds that one should miss out on!
